Words from Natalie:

Bamboo is widely and readily available in China, whilst cotton production is heavily labour intensive. To grow cotton, farmers have to use tons of pesticides and there are 40,000 cotton farmers die from pesticide poisoning each year. Pesticides usually cost much more than what they get from selling cotton. I personally know about this as my grandmother used to live in a village where the villagers were forced on to grow cotton. During the summer holidays, I used to visit her in the north and watched the villagers picking cotton in the cotton fields. It was a hard life. I lived in the southern China with my parents where bamboo wildly grows. We lived in the bamboo house, slept on the bamboo bed and ate the bamboo shoots! By cutting down bamboo, it's to encourage new growth. To save our environment and planet from chemical pollution, please use more bamboo products rather than cotton. Bamboo is the way of our future. I will introduce more bamboo products in due course.
